Feedback vom 6. Dezember 2008:
Sebastian schreibt: Herrliches Programm!
Saeid schreibt: Offline Version?
Hi, I’m a huge fan of FontShop, and glad that there is a typography App on the iPhone.
Just a suggestion, I personally would love to see an offline FontShuffle, or perhaps it could download the content once every month. Looking forward to using your App …
I wanted to say a big Bravo for this idea of minisites for some FF typefaces. Its a very clever idea. Well done FontShop (again).

Bert Freudenberg, via iPhoneApps@fontshop.de: Sehr nett!
Klaus Peter Schmidt, via iPhoneApps@fontshop.de: Toll. Erstmal einfach nur dank …
Chad Engle, via iPhoneApps@fontshop.de: Font Shuffle
I think that this app is great. A search function would be an awesome asset if you were looking for something specific.
Benjamin Shaykin, via iPhoneApps@fontshop.de: Pretty cool app
My first thought is it would be great to have search function. so you could start with the name of a face you know, and then explore from there. thanks! ben
Damals
Antonio Carusone, AisleOne: Overall, the app still feels like a beta and there are many elements that feel unfinished to me. With that said I’m still excited about this app and am looking forward to future releases. It’s a good start and I applaud them but hopefully FontShop addresses these issues and makes FontShuffle a robust type specimen guide for the iPhone/iPod Touch platform.

Marvin Forte: have you seen the FontShuffle iPhone app yet? Pretty nifty font reference.
Mike Krieger: Playing with the fontshuffle app. The UI is awful (especially in the affordance department), but exposure to different font faces is fun.
Philipp Antoni: AWESOME! FontShop FontShuffle mobile font browser now in the App Store.

Michael C. Place, via iPhoneApps@fontshop.de: Great start on the Font Shuffle app.
Suggestions – Rather than having the name of the typeface small and the example big (which on my opinion is a little confusing), maybe switch that round?
The rendering is a little shaky, a lot of subtlty is lost on screen. And as I’m sure you know it’s the subtle difference in fonts we designers love. Maybe a double tap on the example text could enlarge it?
Change the icon please!
Once again, it’s a brilliant start and thanks for making it.
Sebastian Schollmeyer, via iPhoneApps@fontshop.de: Herrliches Programm!
TyoeOff: Morris Sans on FontShuffle. I have reached a new level of geekdom now that I can lovingly stare at Morris Sans, a display typeface family I designed for Linotype two years ago, on my iPhone. All of this is thanks to FontShuffle, a free iPhone font shuffling app released by FontShop on Friday. …
When FontShuffle debuted on the App Store last week, I lamented that I couldn’t find Morris Sans in any of the categories, even though Bank Gothic readily presented herself. This was just your typical Type Designer whining; Bank Gothic is a great typeface and a pillar of graphic design work the world over. It even landed in FontShop’s 2006 list of the 100 greatest typefaces. Morris Sans is just a later development that adds lowercase letters. But I drew it and I love it, just like Dr. Frankenstein must have always had a soft spot for his monster.
Now font shufflers everywhere can gaze at the peculiarities of Morris Sans, too (or at least at one of the six fonts in the family). How fantastic!

preik.no: The rather tasty little iPhone application FontShuffle has just hit town, courtesy of the folks at FontShop. … This is the first version of the app, and at the moment it’s just a friendly little marketing tool for FontShop, without any hugely practical uses. But they’re promising to add more faces, and more functionality, so it could go somewhere very interesting.
cmykern.com: Our favorite yellow typographic hero FontShop have launched the FontShuffle app. I’m a bit late off the mark with this one but I’ve been playing with it for days and it’s lots of fun. You can view lots of different faces at the touch of a few buttons and shake your iPhone to reveal evn more faces. It has a built in font viewer that lets you write custom text to view a particular font in action.

FontShuffle is a good idea but I would make the following changes:
1. Show all fonts in a category so I can see all my choices.
2. Few categories or better still no categories beyond the first level of serif or sans-serif.
3. Show the font at different sizes; you might have to make that user selectable.
CreativePro: … A new application developed by FontShop AG – the German office of FontShop – and Metaquark for the iPhone and iPod Touch … offers a new way of finding and comparing typefaces, and of composing text samples. The software combines the knowledge of the analogue world with new advanced possibilities of the digital mobile world.

Toll.
